Ok, It’s that time again!
I’m so excited…..getting ready for my next show!
Preparing for a show is a lot of fun for me. It makes me very excited, I guess because it gives me a clearly defined goal to reach (which is the key - when you want something… the clearer the better).
My goal is to gain as much muscle in 3 months and follow the plan with my coach to figure it out as we go. That way I can get in the best shape, which is not overly conditioned, but just right!
Preparing for a competition is not the easiest thing to do, especially when you have a lot going on and daily responsibilities, but everything can be done “if you want to”. You just really have to want it!
Onother great part of competing is that not only do I benefit, but also my clients. They can see how I transform slowly and they get the message that anything is possible. Some get very motivated and want to push themselves to get in the best shape thay can . When following a clean diet and doing my workouts, they are able see difference every week. Some weeks more some less. The progress is amazing and I have a lot of fun with it. To get in shape and stay in shape requires a lot of effort and determination. You can’t give up when things gets hard.
(Here is a photo of me when I was fit and ready for my last competition!)
As I mentioned in my previous articles, the reason why I compete in the first place is to understand how the body works and I am so motivated to try new techniques on myself , learn it and to pass it on my clients. Because I study and read so much about fitness, with so much information out there, I got a little confused and overwhelmed. So to make everything very clear, I started to compete. Now I can teach my clients how to work smart and not get too exhausted when trying to find the “right” info. I can really understand how one can get very overwhelmed. Also keep in mind, it takes time for us to understand our body because we are all so different .(thats the beauty of it)
You can learn a lot about yourself, your willpower, discipline, how your body reacts to things, and more . You will know where you’re lacking and what you can improve. It’s never too late to make a change, and you are worth it!
As long as you believe in yourself, you can do it!
I always love to see a fit body and the lean look is so attractive to me. It’s hard to maintain that look all year around….at least for me… Between competions my weight is proximately 7-8 pounds more. (As you can see on my pictures, my competition pics are a little different then my normal everyday pics.) I also workout little less (3-4 days per week) and I eat more carbs, plus…. I have a little bit of treat here and there. I still eat healthy balanced diet, so I would say that I follow it about 80% of the time.
Those 3 Months that I will be preparing for a competition, I will up my workouts, follow my specific diet plan and will give 100 percent! You will be able to see my transformation and perhaps I can motivate some of you to make small changes and get closer to your personal goals. Competing is a bit extreme, but I would be happy if i could do that.
Thank you for reading this and don’t forget to eat clean and train hard!
Stay tuned for part 2! I will be posting updates often!
Till next time
Ciaoooooo,
D

Good luck. We all believe you can do it.
Keep up the great work and leading by example appears to be a great way to teach.
You’re amazing, physically and mentally. I love you
Denise, I think you have the potential to be the person whose name is synonymous with fitness. Just like with Arnold and bodybuilding, Meryl Streep and acting, Michael Jordan and basketball, when people hear the name Denise Milani they will instantly think beauty and fitness!
I have been a fan for a while now, I always have your picture as my computer’s wallpaper because it gets me motivated and keeps me honest about diet and training. You are truly inspirational!
I have to ask; why haven’t you made the jump to acting? I keep expecting to hear about you being in a big budget Hollywood motion picture. It needs to happen!!
I have been following you on Facebook (Jet Orbit), and have been motivated by your article. In the last year and a half I have lost 105 pounds, 370 to 265, and I have been stuck for the last 3-5 month in the 260′s. After reading your article, I have been motivated to step it up a notch. I know I can put even more effort into exercise and eating “cleaner”. I have seen your pics on Facebook and there are some unbelievable shots that show incredible muscle tone, like the one in your article. I have started working out this week, lifting weights and walking (working up to running), but I wanted to let you know that you have inspired me. Here’s to our next 3 months, good luck with the training and the competition, and I will promise to you I will shoot for another 25 pounds by summer (being a bigger guy, my goal is to get to 220 by the end of the year). Thank you again, and keep up the great work! You always look beautiful! Chris
Hi Denise,
I want to tell you,”Thank You”, for your inspirational and encouraging message. The art of beauty manifests the beauty of the art. (And , of course, science doesn’t hurt.) You, Denise, are a body-sculpting artist, talented and determined. Great job!
Johnny
Thanks for the update Denise. I just started a backloading diet Sunday. It’s basically the keto diet with the addition of a cheat meal after each workout. Best of luck improving on your last show. That’s what it’s all about!
It is cool to hear someone motivated! Keep it up! People like myself feed off of good energy
Good Luck with the next competition. It is obvious you are driven and committed. Thanks again

Its so awesome to see you competing! So many people won’t understand what or why you’re doing, but those that do will have an incredible amount of respect for what you are doing. You seem to be doing so many things, I don’t know how you keep it all straight! Good luck in ur next show, I’ll be watching to see how you do. When I can get myself to the point I feel I’m ready to compete, I’ll let you know how I do. Good luck

Denise you are the best!
Denise, great article again. It is good to read how you connect inner motivation and willpower to the looks of a fit body. I am afraid I will be frustrated: you set a good example, but how hard I will try to follow, I will never be anywhere near your looks! You said it: we are all so different
.
I wish you a good spirit and fun with the preparations for the competition! Hxxx
